Westmont doing its part to get pets adopted

Westmont

The Village of Westmont is taking steps to recruit more residents to adopt pets.

Specifically, the village has created a village people and their pets 2016 calendar. The calendar is free and can be downloaded from the village website at www.westmont.illinois.gov.

"We wanted to do something that promotes pet adoption that would be fun for our staff as well,” Rosanne Terry, of the village community service office and animal control liaison, said. “It’s important that people know that there are animal care resources available to them including the information regarding animal adoption and volunteering."

To inspire residents to adopt pets, the Westmont Chamber of Commerce will also be hosting the annual pet promenade and picnic at Ty Warner Park on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
