The city of St. Charles said it will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its Municipal Building on Sept. 12.
Events, to include a guided tour of the building, an architectural treasure hunt for children, cake and live music, will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at the building and plaza and include .
A jazz trio will also play at the plaza as part of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership’s Jazz Weekend.
A Municipal Building exhibit titled “A Look at Zook” will run from Aug. 29-Nov. 28 at the St. Charles History Museum.
“Be sure to come out to celebrate the Municipal Building’s anniversary and visit the history museum exhibit,” Mayor Ray Rogina said. “As a longtime resident, I know that we in St. Charles take great pride in our roots and in preserving our heritage. This event brings together the historic highlights of the building with its present-day attractions — Volunteer Plaza, the Reflections sculpture and Jazz Weekend music.”
