The Elk Grove Village Police Department said Monday it is conducting extra traffic enforcement activities related to the Labor Day Holiday Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket enforcement campaigns through Sept. 7.
As part of the effort, beginning at 10 p.m. Sept. 4 and concluding at 3 a.m. Sept. 5, Elk Grove Village police, in conjunction with Arlington Heights police, will conduct a roadside safety check in the 800 block of Elmhurst Road.
Officers will attempt to identify and cite motorists driving without using their safety belts, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or are committing other traffic-related offenses.
The campaigns are funded with federal traffic safety funds, which are administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation – Division of Transportation Safety.
