Community program set for Sept. 15 in Elmhurst.
The City of Elmhurst invites the public to attend the “Your Trees, Your Community" program on Sept. 15.
The program, led by Jan Roehll, DuPage County program director for The Conservation Foundation, begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 209 N. York.
The program allows participants to learn how to select, plant and grow trees as a means to reduce home energy consumption, reduce flooding and improve air quality.
Additional workshop topics include using rain barrels, proper mulch placement and how to leave no leaves by composting and using them in your own yard.
