FAA meeting on O'Hare runway scheduled in Bensenville.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will hold a public meeting in Bensenville, Illinois, in August, to review and comment on a new environmental study of the current runway configuration and new runway opening at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Monty’s Elegant Banquets, 703 S. York Road.
Residents may submit a statement on the record with the FAA describing the impact that current airport operations have on themselves and their family. Comments should be sent in writing to oharenoise@bensenville.il.us. Bensenville will submit the comments to the FAA. Comments should include name and address.
Bensenville’s board of trustees has been working to identify solutions to mitigate the negative impacts of the new runway.
“The Village of Bensenville is actively working to identify different methods to address the concerns of our residents over the increased noise caused by Runway 10C/28C," Village President Frank Soto said. "Progress towards noise mitigation now can proactively address future issues for other new runways planned at O’Hare."
