Taiwanese Folk Sports Troupe performs in Westmont.
This past Monday, more than 200 guests from Westmont, Illinois, and surrounding communities attended the Taiwanese Folk Sports Troupe performance at the Westmont Park District Community Center.
“The performance was outstanding,” Westmont Mayor Ron Gunter said. “The athletes commanded the complete attention of the audience for the entire presentation. It was amazing. We’re honored to have groups like this come to Westmont and provide these wonderful presentations for our residents.”
The performance consisted of athletic displays of coordination and balance that are unique to Taiwan, including shuttlecock kicking, diabolo spinning, rope skipping, kite flying, dragon and lion dances and top spinning.
