Gerstein takes over as CIO of Hanover Park

The Village of Hanover Park recently appointed Jed Gerstein to serve as its new chief information officer.

Gerstein has 18 years of experience in the IT industry, 15 years of which have been spent in municipal service.

In his last position, Gerstein served as the technology manager for the Schaumburg Park District where he was responsible for strategic direction and implementation of networks, along with telecommunications.  Before that, he worked as an information systems manager at the Naperville Park District.

Gerstein, who is a certified Novell engineer, is working toward a bachelor's degree in computing from DePaul University.

He grew up on the north side of Chicago, and has a son and daughter.
