The Village of Lombard's Preservative Surface Treatment Project is slated to begin this Thursday, weather permitting.
The Preservative Surface Treatment Project will apply a rejuvenating agent to the roadway, which will provide an environmental seal on the asphalt surface. The agent will both improve the durability and increase the road’s service life. The material is sprayed on the pavement in a one-pass application, followed by an application of sand.
Once the contractor begins work at a specific location, the road will be closed for several hours until the sand bonds to the sealant. Any excess sand remaining after one week will be swept up.
The project should be completed within one to two weeks.
The streets affected by the project can be found on the village's new comprehensive construction map at www.VillageofLombard.org/ConstructionMap.
