The Illinois Department of Agriculture will be conducting aerial spraying intended to disrupt the reproduction of the Gypsy moths, the city of Warrenville said Tuesday.
The spraying is scheduled to begin sometime this month between Route 59 and Winfield Road north of Batavia Road and south of Mack Road, weather permitting.
The spray will include the Disrupt II pheromone that is designed to inhibit reproduction of the moths. The application is not intended to kill the moths.
The product does not pose a health risk to humans, animals or the environment.
