Illinois state Sen. Dan Kotowski (D-Park Ridge) has proposed an investment plan that will ensure the state's 2 million children receive education into the fall.
House Bills 4151 and 3763 would invest over $290 million in public education.
"If we fail to embrace our responsibility to invest money in students and schools, we fail to give Illinois students the chance to secure good paying jobs and achieve the American dream,” Kotowski said.
Kotowski also called for Gov. Bruce Rauner to approve the plan.
“It’s time to put aside partisan games and do what’s right for students by investing in them," he said. "I strongly encourage the governor to approve this historic investment in our future leaders. It will be money well-spent and it will transform every community across the great state of Illinois."
