Warrenville, Illinois, is beginning to see an increase in residential development.
Recently, a 12-home Maple Terrace development along Batavia Road, east of Route 59, was completed. Furthermore, developers recently broke ground on the Herrick Woods subdivision near Hubble Middle School.
The city is particularly proud of the future redevelopment of the 4.25 acre Civic Center Redevelopment Site #1 (CCRS #1), formally known as the Musselman property, between Rockwell St. and Manning Ave., adjacent to the library.
On April 6, the city approved a redevelopment agreement with David Weekley Homes, for the construction of the new homes on the site without the need for tax incentives.
The plan for the site includes pedestrian-conducive, high-quality, detached single-family residential homes, ranging in price from the $300,000s to the mid-$400,000s.
The project, the city believes, will boost the local economy and meet the housing demands of area residents.
The city expects the project to begin fall 2015.
