Oak Brook hearing on electrical-aggregation plan set for April 14

Ob

The Oak Brook village president and board of trustees will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, April 14, to consider changes to the plan of operation and governance for an electrical aggregation program.

The hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room, 1200 Oak Brook Road.

The plan would allow the village to arrange for the supply of electricity to residential and small commercial retail customers who have not opted out of such a program.

"The program is designed to reduce the amount members pay for electric energy and to gain other favorable terms of service," the plan of operation and governance said. "The village will not buy and resell the power to the program members. Instead, the village will competitively bid and negotiate a contract with a supplier to provide firm, full requirements (in) generation service to the members of the program."

The hearing will be held pursuant to Section 1-92 of the Illinois Power Agency Act, 20 ILCS 3855/1-92.

The village welcomes public comments on the plan.
