Beginning April 9, Water St. will be closed, due to construction taking place on the Water Street District in downtown Naperville, Illinois.
Construction is taking place in the area by the DuPage River to the north, Webster St. to the west, Main St. to the east and the alley to the south.
During construction, Water St. and the sidewalks will be shut down for all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Also, the alley between Water St. and Aurora Ave. will close to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a period during construction.
Webster St. and the Webster St. entrance to the municipal center parking deck will remain open to motor vehicles and pedestrians.
The Water Street District will include a restaurant, retail and office spaces, a banquet facility and hotel. An over 500-space parking garage owned by the city will also be placed next to the hotel.
Construction is anticipated to last until fall 2016.
