The Elk Grove Village Police Department is beefing up traffic enforcement activities through March 22.

The activities are tied to the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaigns, as well as St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday.

Activities include extra DUI saturation patrols, seat-belt enforcement zones and a roadside safety checkpoint.

The efforts are funded with federal traffic safety funds, which are administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Transportation Safety.
