U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Rock Falls Mayor Bill Wescott met in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday to discuss 2015 regional priorities, including infrastructure initiatives.
“Mayor Wescott proudly serves the City of Rock Falls, Illinois, and it was great to meet with him today,” Durbin said. "I look forward to continuing our work together this year by finding ways to improve the community and the local economy in Rock Falls.”
In August 2014, Durbin presented an Economic Development Administration grant award of $51,628 to the Blackhawk Hills Resource Conservation and Development Council in Rock Falls. Currently, Rock Falls is using the grant to establish a strategic plan to enhance private investments and job creation in the region.
