At its Thursday meeting, the Village of Lombard's board of trustees unanimously appointed Robyn Pike to fulfill the remaining term of District 5 trustee Laura Fitzpatrick.
Village President Keith Giagnorio made the appointment, filling the vacancy resulting from Fitzpatrick's March 1 resignation.
“I look forward to bringing positive and creative problem-solving to ongoing and future projects with the village,” Pike said. "It is my desire to work as a member of the team to assure the best interest in District 5 and the Village of Lombard.”
Pike is the only candidate running for the District 5 trustee seat in the April election. She currently sits on the Lombard Community Promotion and Tourism Committee and is a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Easter Seals, Aunt Martha’s Family Services, The Clothesline Project and Habitat for Humanity.
State statute permits the village president to make an appointment for a trustee vacancy within 60 days following the vacancy, with the advice and consent of the board.
