Foster announces 11th Congressional District Art Competition
Rep. Bill Foster (D-IL) has announced the start of the 11th Congressional District's High School Art Competition.
“Every year, I am so impressed by the talent of the young artists in our district,” Foster said. “I look forward to seeing the artwork on display in my offices and in the tunnel of the Capitol building every time I go to vote.”
The competition is open to high school students who reside or attend school in the 11th Congressional District. Interested students should submit one original piece of two-dimensional work that is no larger than 28-by-28-by-4 inches when framed. Entries must be dropped off by April 15 at Foster’s office in Aurora or Joliet.
The winner will receive two round-trip tickets to Washington, D.C. for the unveiling of their work, which will hang in the Capitol complex for the next year. Three runners-up will be chosen and their artwork also will be displayed in Foster’s offices.
