The City of Warrenville currently is accepting proposals for the purchase and redevelopment of a vacant tract of land.
The piece of land -- approximately 4.25 acres -- is owned by Warrenville and located at the southeast corner of Rockwell Street and Stafford Place, within the Old Town/Civic Center Tax Increment Financing District Redevelopment Project Area.
Proposals must include detailed descriptions of the following: planned uses for the parcel, any possible infrastructure and building improvements with a corresponding construction timeline, the amount the developer is willing to pay and data that indicate the developer has the experience, resources and financial capacity needed. The applicant also must agree that no reimbursement would be sought for any redevelopment project expenses incurred upon purchase of the parcel.
Warrenville has invested more than $3 million to acquire the property and demolish and remove an outdated industrial building. The city will ensure the site is environmentally sound before moving forward.
Proposals must be sealed and marked “Old Town/Civic Center Tax Increment Financing District (TIF No. 3) Redevelopment Project Area RFP” and delivered to Ronald Mentzer, community development director, City of Warrenville, 3 S. 258 Manning Ave., Warrenville, Illinois 60555, no later than 10 a.m. March 17.
