Illinois state Rep. Patti Bellock (R-47), the deputy House minority leader, was recently named to serve as spokesperson on two House committees involving human service for the 99th General Asembly.
Bellock was also appointed to serve on the House committees on Financial Institutions and Labor & Commerce, and on the special committees on Health & Healthcare Disparities and Special Needs Services.
"Illinois’ most vulnerable families stand to be impacted the most by the difficult budget decisions that will need to be made this spring," Bellock said. "I remain committed to ensuring that we preserve a strong safety net for those who need it most, including the disabled, children with special needs, seniors on fixed incomes, homeless veterans and families that are struggling to provide basic shelter and food for their children."
Bellock -- considered to be an expert on the state budget, Medicaid and issues relating to disability -- was also reappointed chief budget negotiator for the House Republican Caucus.
