The Illinois House of Representatives began its 2026 Spring Session on January 20. State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) is encouraging residents to participate in the legislative process by filing witness slips. According to Grant, this allows individuals to express support or opposition for proposed legislation before the Illinois General Assembly. Witness slips are read into the official record and are considered by committee members during hearings.

Grant stated, “Click here for a brief video and explanation on how to file a witness slip to ensure your voice is heard.”

Amy Grant was elected as a Republican representative in 2023 for the state’s 47th House District, succeeding Deanne Mazzochi.
