State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) has announced the start of his fourth annual “Valentines for Seniors” card drive. The initiative invites students, community groups, and individual residents to create handmade Valentine’s cards and drawings for seniors living in assisted living centers, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities within the 24th Senate District.

“This card drive has become a meaningful tradition in our community,” said Lewis. “Each year, I’m reminded how a small gesture like a handwritten card can have a big impact on someone’s day. Our seniors have given so much to our communities, and this is a simple way to show them they are appreciated.”

The program has seen thousands of cards delivered in previous years, with positive responses from both recipients and caregivers. Cards can be dropped off or mailed to Senator Lewis’ office at 962 W. Army Trail Road, Carol Stream, IL 60188, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays. Those unable to deliver cards in person or by mail can contact the office for alternative arrangements. The deadline for submissions is February 6.

“This is a wonderful way for young people to connect with an older generation,” Lewis added. “These cards show our seniors that they remain an important and valued part of our community.”

Senator Lewis was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois' 24th Senate District in 2023, succeeding Suzy Glowiak.
