Rep. Sanalitro introduces tax relief bill focused on workforce training
State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R–Hanover Park) has introduced House Bill 1752, which aims to provide income tax deductions for both employers and employees who participate in educational assistance programs. The bill is designed to make it more affordable for workers to continue their education and for businesses to invest in workforce training.
“Investing in education and job training strengthens our workforce and our economy,” said Rep. Sanalitro. “This bill rewards both employers and employees who take the initiative to build new skills and create more opportunities.”
Supporters of HB 1752 believe the measure will encourage partnerships between businesses and workers by reducing the financial barriers associated with continuing education. They argue that this approach can help attract and retain talent, support local businesses, and promote long-term economic growth in Illinois.
“We should be making it easier for people to improve their skills and advance in their careers,” Sanalitro added. “HB 1752 is a common-sense way to support hardworking families and job creators across our state.”
Sanalitro, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state's 48th House District, replacing previous state representative Terra Costa Howard.
