A regional economic marketing effort dubbed “One Call, 10 Stores, A Million Customers" kicked off on Monday, an effort by nine Chicago-area communities that were home to 10 former Dominick’s stores. “Dominick’s was an institution that had a long-term presence in each of our communities," Jason Zawila, a planner who coordinates economic-development efforts for the Village of Woodridge, said.
Woodridge residents are invited to sign up for a new emergency notification system that allows the village to dispatch messages to particular geographic areas in town and utilize an automated phone system to provide emergency or other information concerning the community, the village said on Thursday.
The Woodridge Plan Commission will hold a public hearing today at 7:30 p.m. to consider a request to remove a pool and replace the amenity with a splash pad, playground, fitness stations and a seating area. The meeting will be held at the Woodridge Village Hall, Five Plaza Drive.
Commercial real estate sectors in Woodridge rebounded in 2014, with new retail stores, remodeled restaurants and the Union Pointe Business Park project in the mix.
