Lombard's commuter parking pay stations now available

The village of Lombard's electronic commuter parking pay stations started to operate this week in three locations: near the south side of the pedestrian underpass, next to the ramp and stairs; near the west side of the Hammerschmidt daily fee lot; and on the north end of the pedestrian underpass stairs and ramp.

Lombard, Sam's Club move forward with plan for store

Lombard officials said on Friday that Sam's Club, Hamilton Partners, Oakridge Realty and the village reached a tentative agreement to move forward with the development of a new 135,000-square-foot retail store at 611 E. Butterfield Road. Keith Giagnorio, the village's president, said the agreement is great news for Lombard.

Lombard residents get 6-cent boost in trash-pickup fee

Although waste-management hauling prices in Lombard have slightly increased in 2015, the city continues to enjoy one of the lowest rates for garbage collection in the area, the city's website said last week. Recently, Lombard decided to increase its garbage service rates by 6 cents for a standard 64-gallon toter.
