A voter-approved measure to consolidate adjoining roads districts in Naperville and Lisle townships appears to be stuck on a one-way street for now, based on interviews with officials from both communities.
The Lisle Township budget was $7.02 million for its 2016 fiscal year.
The township of Lisle will hold its annual town meeting 7 p.m. April 12 at 4711 Indiana Ave.
Lisle Township recently posted a mosquito status report for September. The report indicated much of the Chicago area was impacted by three to four major floodwater mosquito-annoyance periods. "The above-normal temperature pattern, including three days in the 90s and 15 days at 80 degrees or above, created ideal conditions for the mosquitoes to be a significant factor," the report said.
BodyThe Lisle Police Department on June 30 held its first "Walk & Talk" along Main Street, north of Ogden Avenue.
Chuck Clarke, highway commissioner of Lisle Township, said this week that he will retire on Saturday. Clarke first began working for Lisle Township in 1972. For eight years, he was an elected township trustee.
Lisle Township is seeking a candidate to fill a township trustee vacancy.
The Lisle Township Supervisor and Board of Trustees are currently seeking to fill the position of highway commissioner.
