Three Chicago juveniles detained over attempted carjacking in Downers Grove
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Downers Grove Chief of Police Michael DeVries announced today that three male Cook County juveniles, two fourteen-year-olds and one fifteen-year-old, accused of Attempt Vehicular Hijacking (Class 2 Felony) will be detained until at least their next court appearance. Chicago man sentenced to 31 years for armed Darien home invasion
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced that late yesterday afternoon Judge Joseph Bugos sentenced Joseph Covington, 28, formerly of Chicago, to thirty-one years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. This follows Covington's guilty plea to one count of Home Invasion (Class X Felony) on April 3, 2024. At his appearance in Bond Court, Judge Brian Telander ordered he be held without bond. He has remained in custody at the DuPage County Jail.

Louisiana man detained after alleged high-speed chase in stolen vehicle
A Louisiana man, Aiden Coburn-Dishler, has been denied pre-trial release after being accused of leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle while illegally possessing a loaded handgun. A Chicago man, currently on probation for two separate cases, has been detained pre-trial following accusations of fleeing from police after allegedly stealing more than $300 worth of alcohol from a Clarendon Hills Jewel grocery store.
