Carol Stream man charged with aggravated battery after road rage incident

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Carol Stream Chief of Police Don Cummings announced today that Judge Susan Alvarado has granted the State’s motion to detain pre-trial a Carol Stream man accused of shooting another man following a road rage altercation. Carlos Sanchez, 26, of the 800 block of New Britton Road, appeared in First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Aggravated Battery - Discharge of a Firearm (Class X Felony) and one count of Misdemeanor Endangering the Health or Life of a Child.

Two Zion women charged with burglary at Oak Brook Macy's

Hoffman Estates man detained pre-trial for alleged violent assault and kidnapping

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Bartlett Chief of Police Geoffrey Pretkelis announced that Judge Jeffrey MacKay granted the State’s motion to detain pre-trial a Hoffman Estates man accused of violently beating his girlfriend and kidnapping her at knifepoint. Bartlett man sentenced to twenty-seven years for killing elderly mother

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced today that a former Bartlett man found guilty but mentally ill in the stabbing death of his mother in 2019 has been sentenced to twenty-seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. On April 12, 2024, Judge Daniel Guerin rendered his guilty but mentally ill verdict against Edward Mitzelfeld, 69 (d.o.b. 11/27/1954), formerly of the 700 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue, following a seven-day-long bench trial that concluded on March 22, 2024.
