Court denies pre-trial release for man accused of sexually abusing Uber driver

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and ISP Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 Commander Andrew Anselm announced today that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for a Schaumburg man accused of sexually abusing an Uber driver yesterday morning. Chenna Borra, 30 (d.o.b. 6/6/1994) of the 0-100 block of Wildflower Lane, appeared at First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place (Class 3 Felony) and one count of Criminal Sexual Abuse (Class 4 Felony).

Former Villa Park man sentenced to seventy years for stabbing girlfriend

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced that a former Villa Park man was sentenced to seventy years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the murder of Esmeralda DeLuna, 24, his live-in girlfriend and mother of their three children. Marco-Antonio Rubio, 29, appeared at his sentencing hearing yesterday in front of Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh, who handed down the sentence. Juvenile detained after bringing loaded gun to Lombard high school

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Tom Wirsing announced today that Judge Demetrios Panoushis has ordered that a Glendale Heights juvenile accused of bringing a loaded gun to a Lombard high school will be held in custody until at least his next court appearance. The juvenile, a fourteen-year-old male, is charged with one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon in a School (Class 3 Felony) and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (Class 4 Felony).
