"The City of Oakbrook Terrace operates under the Mayor / Alderman form of local government. Oakbrook Terrace has eight elected officials: six Alderman, a Clerk, and a Mayor. The City is divided into three wards with two Aldermen per ward. Together, the Mayor and City Council create policy and direction for the City. They perform such functions as passing resolutions and ordinances, approving the expenditure of money, levying taxes, approving subdivisions, zoning, and other land use regulations, and other issues that affect the City of Oakbrook Terrace."
