At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, Naperville Police Officers on bicycle patrol in downtown Naperville observed a 2012 Dodge Charger at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Main Street rapidly accelerate, emitting a screeching noise and smoke from the rear tires. The vehicle proceeded south on Main Street and stopped a block away behind an uninvolved vehicle waiting at a stop sign. As officers approached the vehicle with their emergency lights activated, the Dodge Charger fled from police, disregarding traffic control devices and heading westbound on Aurora Avenue.

City of Naperville Naper Settlement Museum Board met Friday, Aug. 25
At 8:57 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a call for a structure fire at a two-story, wood-framed, single-family residential structure on the 4100 Block of Emporia Ct. Naperville 911 (PSAP) dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of ten pieces of fire apparatus and twenty-four personnel including an Incident Commander and an Incident Safety Officer to the reported address. PSAP also advised the occupants to evacuate the building.

NAPERVILLE CRIME STOPPERS are offering up to a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the theft of a firefighter helmet (actual helmet pictured below) that was removed from a statue in front of a Naperville residence on the 1200 block of Sandpiper Lane on Sept. 23, 2023.
The Naperville Police Department is urging motorists to commit to sober driving this Halloween when children and their families will be walking through neighborhoods after dark in search of candy and spooky fun. If you will be out scaring up a good time, remember to plan ahead for a sober ride home.
