On July 11, 15 African American residents of Will County had COVID-19 tests return positive

On July 11, 15 African American residents of Will County had their COVID-19 test return positive, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Since the start of the pandemic, 1,137 African American residents have tested positive for COVID-19, constituting 15 percent of the positive cases in Will County.

Illinois gathers all of their COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it’s transmission.
