North Central secures CCIW football title and unanimous No. 1 ranking

North Central College has retained its position as the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III football, following a 24-7 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. The Cardinals are now 10-0 and have secured every first-place vote in both the D3football.com Top 25 and the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll. In these rankings, North Central received 625 points from D3football.com and 1300 points from the AFCA poll, continuing their run at number one throughout the season. With their win on Saturday, North Central also clinched the outright College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) championship.

Wheaton College remains ranked after defeating North Park with a score of 52-6, improving their record to 8-2. Wheaton is now ranked #19 in the D3football.com Top 25 with 211 points and moved up to #20 in the coaches’ poll with 320 points, gaining one spot compared to last week.

Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) continues to receive national attention, earning 11 points in the AFCA poll.
