North Central remains atop national football polls; Wheaton holds steady

North Central College has maintained its position as the top-ranked team in both the D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) national polls, according to releases from Sunday and Monday. Wheaton College also held steady, ranking #18 in the D3football.com poll and #21 in the AFCA coaches’ poll.

On Saturday, North Central secured at least a share of its 19th College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) championship after defeating Elmhurst 58-0. This victory marked the Cardinals’ 50th consecutive conference win and their 24th straight win overall.

Wheaton concluded its home schedule with a 61-14 victory over Millikin. The Thunder have now won five consecutive games since October 11.

Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) received two points in this week’s coaches’ poll, an increase from one point last week.
