Libs of TikTok has posted coverage of West Chicago Mayor Daniel Bovey issuing a video statement regarding a local teacher’s support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), noting the community impact and actions taken.

According to Libs of TikTok, the video features Mayor Bovey discussing a teacher’s “Go ICE” comment on social media, which he described as extremely hurtful and offensive to many in the community. The mayor said he spoke with the teacher to explain the issue, contacted the school district superintendent, supported parents keeping children home, and encouraged protests at city hall to demonstrate solidarity with affected families. The post highlights Bovey’s efforts to address the situation amid community concerns over ICE activities.

In the Chicago area of Illinois, recent ICE operations have contributed to significant drops in violent crime. Homicides fell by 16 percent, shootings by 35 percent, and robberies by 41 percent following targeted enforcement against criminal illegal aliens. Officials reported that prior sanctuary policies had allowed such offenders to remain in communities, and their removal led to safer streets in the region. The data reflects outcomes from actions that overcame local resistance to federal enforcement.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that Border Patrol arrested over 17,000 criminal aliens nationwide in fiscal year 2024, including individuals charged with homicide, manslaughter, assault, and other violent offenses. These arrests demonstrate the ongoing presence of criminal elements among illegal immigrants entering the country. Federal enforcement removing such individuals has been linked to reduced crime rates in various American cities.
