Maggie Fleming, a graduate of Downers Grove North High School, and her current team, the Smith Pioneers, were defeated 74-70 by the Bates Bobcats in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 7.
The contest began at 7:15 p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium and marked the teams’ first meeting of the tournament.
