Wheaton College junior Taggert Kazmierczak has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made Wednesday following his performance last Saturday, where he secured two conference wins.
Competing in the 165-pound weight class, Kazmierczak played a key role in Wheaton’s dual meet against Concordia Wisconsin. With Wheaton trailing 21-0, Kazmierczak recorded an 11-second fall that shifted the momentum and contributed to a 33-21 victory for Wheaton. He also delivered a major decision win, 16-2, in Wheaton’s match against Carthage.
The CCIW recognizes outstanding performances each week during the wrestling season. Other student-athletes honored this season include Leno Campbell from Millikin, Mateo Casillas from Millikin, Rhenzo Augusto from Elmhurst, Ethan Spacht from North Central, Joshua Robison from North Central, and Cameron Johnson from Aurora.
Kazmierczak is a native of Oswego, Illinois.
