Sophomore Imani Ogunribido achieved a significant victory at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio. She became the national champion in the women’s triple jump on Saturday, May 24. The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams ended their outdoor season with four podium finishes at the NCAA Championships. Junior Evan Lowder also received All-American honors, joining junior Adriana Crabtree and senior Lauren Huber, who earned this recognition earlier in the weekend.

Ogunribido started strong in the women’s triple jump with a school-record leap of 12.65 meters (41’6″) on her first attempt. She extended that record to 12.67 meters (41’7″) with her third jump, securing the second-best mark heading into finals.

On her final attempt, Ogunribido delivered an impressive jump of 12.96 meters (42’6.25″), breaking her own school record for the third time that day and securing the triple jump title. This achievement ranks third all-time in Division III history. Her All-American trophy was presented by head coach Amelia Marino, a two-time long jump champion.

This win marks Ogunribido as Illinois Wesleyan’s first-ever triple jump national champion and adds her to the list of just 20 individual champions in the history of Illinois Wesleyan’s women’s track and field program.
