Illinois Wesleyan University’s Noah Cleveland has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week in men’s basketball. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon by the CCIW.
Cleveland, a sophomore from Normal, Illinois, played a key role in leading the Titans to three victories during the week. His performance included helping secure a win over a ranked opponent and earning a second tournament title for his team.
Over the course of three games, Cleveland averaged 14.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He also contributed five blocks, two steals, and two assists while shooting 64 percent from the field, making 20 out of 31 attempts. These efforts helped improve Illinois Wesleyan’s record to 5-0.
In a close 72-69 win against No. 11 Chicago, Cleveland scored 14 points and collected eight rebounds while shooting seven-for-eleven from the floor. He then recorded nine points and seven rebounds in just 15 minutes as Illinois Wesleyan defeated Wisconsin Lutheran with a score of 97-42. Cleveland capped off his week with a career-best performance against Kenyon, scoring 20 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and blocking four shots in only 23 minutes of play.
Cleveland was named to the Mike Turner Classic All-Tournament team after leading Illinois Wesleyan to an in-season tournament championship.
