Illinois Wesleyan University’s men’s basketball team has moved up to No. 13 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, reflecting continued success in conference play. The Titans advanced from their previous No. 15 ranking after improving their season record to 13–3 and sharing first place in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) standings.
The team’s rise in the rankings comes after an 80–61 win on the road against Wheaton last Saturday. Sophomore Noah Cleveland achieved his 11th double-double of the season, scoring 30 points and collecting 13 rebounds. Junior Casen Lawrence contributed 22 points, making six three-pointers. Combined, Cleveland and Lawrence scored 52 of the team’s total points as Illinois Wesleyan shot nearly 47 percent from both the field and beyond the arc.
The top five teams in the national poll remained unchanged this week. Trinity (Conn.) holds onto the No. 1 spot with a perfect 16–0 record and all first-place votes, followed by Chicago at No. 2, Emory at No. 3, Mount Union at No. 4, and Randolph-Macon at No. 5.
