About 15.2 percent of the 820 degrees and certificates handed out by the Wheaton College in 2016-17 were to students in Theology and Religious Vocations programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Wheaton conferred 73 master's degrees and 46 bachelor's degrees in Theology and Religious Vocations programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Business/Managerial Economics. Data shows the school gave out 61 bachelor's degrees in Business/Managerial Economics, followed by 53 bachelor's degrees in English Language and Literature, General and 45 bachelor's degrees in Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General.
The college enrolled 2,901 students for 2016-17, including 2,456 in undergraduate programs and 445 in graduate programs.
