FOIA Request to Mount Prospect Police Department regarding active employee roster on November 13, 2025.

The DuPage Policy Journal has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Mount Prospect Police Department in Illinois. The request seeks access to records that detail the current roster of police department employees. Specifically, the requested information includes any roster, directory, staffing list, payroll record, or personnel summary that identifies all current employees. The details sought for each employee include their name, job title or rank, sex or gender (if available), date of hire or appointment, and age or year of birth (only if included in existing public-facing records).

The request also specifies that if multiple versions of such rosters exist—such as HR rosters, payroll rosters, sworn-officer rosters, and civilian-staff rosters—the most recent version of each should be provided. The request was made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, with a preference for receiving the information in electronic format.

As part of the media organization DuPage Policy Journal’s commitment to providing comprehensive coverage on local governmental affairs and ensuring transparency and accountability within public institutions, this FOIA request is essential. Additionally, due to the journal’s role in disseminating information to the public, they have requested a fee waiver for accessing these records.

The requestor is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy—a organization dedicated to assisting media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.
