FOIA Request to City of Wood Dale Regarding Newly Registered Businesses on May 7, 2025.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the DuPage Policy Journal have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Wood Dale. Our request seeks access to records detailing businesses registered with the city in the past week. Specifically, we are interested in obtaining a list that includes the following fields: Business Name, Business Number, Business Type, Business Address, Issued Date, Status, and Registered Agent Name.

Our role as media professionals involves gathering and reporting news to the public while holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency. Access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities effectively. We believe that our status as members of the media qualifies us for a fee waiver under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

This request is made in collaboration with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Missouri Corporation dedicated to assisting news media companies and public advocacy groups in investigating state and federal governmental agencies. Through leveraging Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws, we aim to pull back the curtain on government actions and help inform the American electorate. For more information about our efforts and mission, please visit [https://stopsecrecy.org/about/](https://stopsecrecy.org/about/).

We look forward to receiving the requested information promptly and appreciate any assistance provided by the City of Wood Dale in fulfilling this request.
