FOIA Request to City of Naperville regarding vendor payment registers on November 10, 2025.

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted by the DuPage Policy Journal to the City of Naperville on November 10, 2025. The request seeks access to existing vendor payment registers maintained by the city for the period from January 1, 2025, to March 31, 2025. The requested records should include details such as the names of vendors paid by the city, dates and amounts of payments, and a description or purpose of goods and services provided.

The request emphasizes that it is strictly for records that already exist and does not seek the creation of new documents. As part of their role in gathering and reporting to the public, DuPage Policy Journal highlights its commitment to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency. Given their status as a media organization, they have requested a fee waiver for accessing these records.

The DuPage Policy Journal is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a organization based in Missouri. This coalition assists media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies using Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws. Their efforts aim to enhance transparency and inform the American electorate about actions.

In Illinois, pet owners must have a license for certain pets like dogs and comply with state regulations as defined in the Illinois Animal Welfare Act. These licenses support animal control programs and ensure pets are vaccinated against diseases like rabies.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
