FOIA Request to City of Darien Regarding Newly Registered Businesses on May 7, 2025.

We, at DuPage Policy Journal, have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Darien seeking detailed records of businesses registered with the city over the past week. Our request specifically asks for information in electronic format and includes several key fields: Business Name, Business Number, Business Type, Business Address, Issued Date, Status, and Registered Agent Name.

As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to these public records is crucial for us. This enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities of holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public. In line with our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals.

Additionally, we are part of The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy—a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Missouri Corporation that aids news media companies and public advocacy groups in investigating state and federal governmental agencies. Through leveraging Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws, we aim to pull back the curtain on government actions and help inform the American electorate. More information about our coalition can be found at [https://stopsecrecy.org/about/](https://stopsecrecy.org/about/).

We look forward to receiving the requested information from the City of Darien promptly.
