FOIA Request to City of Darien regarding new or amended contracts on December 9, 2025.

The DuPage Policy Journal has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Darien, Illinois. The request seeks access to records concerning any new contracts or contract amendments executed by the city, village, or township from January 1, 2025, through March 31, 2025. The focus is specifically on contracts related to public works projects, technology services, and consulting or professional services.

The request emphasizes that it pertains only to existing records and does not necessitate the creation of new documents. The requester has expressed a preference for receiving these documents in electronic format if available. Additionally, as a member of the media involved in gathering and reporting to the public, the requester has requested a fee waiver based on their role in providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable.

This FOIA request is part of an effort by The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws. This coalition aims to enhance transparency and inform the American electorate about actions.

In Illinois, pet owners must have a license for certain pets like dogs and comply with state and local regulations. These licenses are defined in the Illinois Animal Welfare Act and must comply with the Animal Welfare Act and Animal Welfare Rules. Licensing supports animal control and health programs while ensuring pets have correct vaccinations against diseases like rabies.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
