Fenton Community High School District 100 students suspended 243 times in a single school year
Fenton Community High School District 100 reported 243 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 243 students during the year. That equates to 16.2 percent of the 1,499 students enrolled.
Of the 226 in-school suspensions, 161 were given to boys and 65 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 220 incidents. There were four incidents of violence without physical injury. For 226 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes nine incidents. There were five incidents of drugs. For 11 incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
