Elmhurst University junior Kristin Bukata has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made on Monday.

Bukata, who plays guard and is from Valparaiso, Indiana, contributed significantly to Elmhurst’s 59–39 win over Kalamazoo last Wednesday. She recorded 19 points, a career-high 14 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two blocks. Bukata shot 7-of-17 from the field and made four out of five free throws. She also had only one turnover in her 34 minutes on the court. This performance helped Elmhurst secure its second victory of the season.

The CCIW has recognized other student-athletes this season as well. Anna Kleszynski from Elmhurst received the honor for the week of November 17, while Grace Cord from Carthage was named for the week of November 11.
