DuPage County Sheriff’s Merit Commission met Nov. 6

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

1. CALL TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order at 8:30a.m. by Chairman Reyes.

2. ROLL CALL

Upon Roll Call, Chairman Reyes and Commissioner Kachiroubas were present.

Commissioner Gravina was absent.

Other staff members present: Ryan Johnson (Merit Commission assistant)

Chief Papa (Sheriffs office), Lindsey Stern (Sheriffs Office), Paul Bruckner (Assistant States Attorney)

No public comment was offered.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner Kachiroubas moved and Chairman Reyes seconded the motion to approve the November 6, 2025 Bills Payable list.

Roll Call Vote: Chairman Reyes, Yes. Commissioner Kachiroubas, Yes.

Commissioner Gravina was absent.

RESULT: APPROVED

d. Candidate question regarding make up exam was discussed. The commission unanimously concluded that we follow previous precedent 1-2 days before or after exam date would be acceptable for a make up.

8. Executive Session

Chairman Reyes moved and Commissioner Kachiroubas seconded the motion to enter into Executive Session.

a. Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) of the Open Meetings Act for the appointment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of a specific employee, one-on-one interviews.

Roll Call Vote: Chairman Reyes, Yes. Commissioner Kachiroubas, Yes.

Commissioner Gravina was absent.

The Commission entered into Executive Session at 8:34a.m.

The Commission returned to Open Session at 9:23a.m.

9. Matters to be referred from Executive Session (if any)

a. Action on the certification of candidates subject to one-on-one interviews on November 6th, 2025.

Chairman Reyes moved and Commissioner Kachiroubas seconded the motion to certify candidates 3036,3040,3041,3042,3045 and 3048.

Roll Call Vote: Chairman Reyes, Yes. Commissioner Kachiroubas, Yes.

Commissioner Gravina was absent.

10. ADJOURNMENT

Chairman Reyes moved and Commissioner Kachiroubas seconded the motion to adjourn.
