DuPage County Health Department Teen Board to host summer blanket making event

The DuPage County Health Department's Teen Board will begin its weekly summer programming with a Blanket Making Event for Animals in Shelters, according to an announcement on June 17.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the Glenbard District Office, located at 596 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. The program is free and open to any high school student in DuPage County. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend.

Organizers said attendees can expect an afternoon focused on fun, inspiration, and giving back. The event will also include opportunities for students to meet new people and interact with comfort dogs.

According to the announcement, the goal of the event is not only community service but also fostering motivation among local teens through engagement and volunteerism.
