Evelyn Sanguinetti, born November 12, 1970, in Hialeah, Florida, grew up in a diverse community marked by its vibrant culture and strong sense of community. From an early age, Sanguinetti displayed a passion for public service, driven by a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. After earning her law degree, she embarked on a remarkable career dedicated to serving the public interest. In 2014, Sanguinetti made history by becoming the first Latina lieutenant governor of Illinois, a role in which she tirelessly advocated for policies aimed at improving education, healthcare, and economic opportunity for all residents. Throughout her tenure, she remained deeply committed to addressing the needs of Wheaton, IL, her adopted hometown. Sanguinetti’s leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on Wheaton, shaping the city’s future and ensuring that it remains a vibrant and inclusive community for generations to come.
